I'm looking at getting a D3 and then fitting a OL bar. OL want to charge a heap to fit it. Is it a difficult job to do it myself, or not worth the hassle.
Thanks

I fitted a 2nd hand ARB bar complete with winch last month.
Quite easy.
Just take all the plastic stuff off the car and bolt on the mounts. Then, with the help of a strong son-in-law, just lift the bar onto the mounts.
The only trick I would offer is to not cut the plastic flares until after you have fitted the bar. Then line up the flares off the bar NOT as per the instructions that say line up from the bottom of the headlights.
If you line up from the headlights it leaves a larger gap than necessary. Apparently a large gap is needed for lesser 4wd as they vibrate a lot more.

Thanks. OL allocated 5 hrs to fit. How much time did it take you?

Probably about the same.
But except for the actual lifting I was on my own and learning as I went.

If you go to the ARB Web site and go to bulbars they have a pdf that you can download to fit their bars, might be useful for you for what you have to do. Cheers and good luck. The pdf is on the arbusa.com site just type your vehicle make and model and follow the links

The ARB instructions are much more comprehensive than the OL ones.

Do a search. The OL instructions were posted some months ago. Unless you are a confident/competent handyman type, let someone else do it.

I am very interested in getting an OL front bar but would like to have a look at one in the flesh fitted to a vehicle, particularly with the parking sensors and cameras fitted, as my vehicle has these.
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask or if it breaks the rules but if you are in Adelaide and have an OL bar fitted with parking and cameras and you don't mind me coming to have a look I would appreciate a PM.
I did ask the local OL dealer to see if they could find one to look at but no luck, so this seems like a good place to start.
Thanks :)
