Hello
I have a defender with some bad injectors, I have ordered some new ones, they're in the mail.
I'm getting heaps of white smoke at idle and when reved, I am wondering if I could ajust fuel pump to lower smoke?
Just looking for a quick fix to get my boat a few ks down the road :-)

White smoke often means coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. But if the smoke smells of diesel then it's unburnt fuel which may mean that your timing is off (possibly retarded). If it's not coolant and not timing then IIRC you can reduce smoke by adjusting the screw in the top of the boost compensator (or aneroid). There is a very good write-up on fuel adjustments to the VE pump done by a guy in your neck of the woods which may help.

Thanks, I'm playing with timing trying to improve it, I think I've had the timing cover off three times today haha!

I've got it to acceptable level with timing adjustment , the crank gear was moving clockwise when the belt was going on
