I want to give the D2 a little more go, and l have been doing some research.
As l have a 99 D2, l would have to swap ecu over to enable it to be remapped.
What do you guys think of the set-up ??

Maybe it is a better option, without change ecu???

go and ask rick.
although I didn't own a d2, he was able to turn my d1 into a flyer which went really well.
I am sure he could advise you which chip is the best.
but like all businesses, you might like to offer to pay for his advice.

Interesting. Mine is also a 99 so I have the same issue.
Either change the chip on my MSB ecu or like you say swop to a NNN ecu and then change the mapping file.
Most tuning firms do a EU3 map which apparently on a EU2 Td5, which we have, will throw up fault codes, cause excess smoke and generally not run as good as it would on a EU3.
There are other tuning boxes but the one I spoke required hacking into the harness which I am not keen on, so if this plug and play it's easy to remove if you suspect it's causing an issue etc.

hi Dave , i have been doing the same research myself.I had a look at the link you posted and i think 395pounds seems expensive for a piggy back chip . i have heard a few people say to stay clear of piggy back chips.mr automitve quoted me 650 installed. rick quoted 700 or 750 installed , they both used Bruce Davis remapped ecu's, so I believe. you may even be able to get a discount from Mr automotive, especially if we both go together .I have also spoke to TRS in South Australia and they are 595 for an exchange ecu , freight 25 . and you have to get the security reset from a dealer about 80 . TRS say they have dynoed theres as well as others and state theres makes the most power.
I have also been reading older posts about tomraider on alro remapping ecus with terrific results but am not sure if he is still doing this. If anyone knows how to contact tombraider could they please post it. Thanks in advance.
hope this helps Dave , you have my phone no. if you want a chat

this is the guy I got one from for the Tardis. We landed one for me and one for a ranger for 150gbp (about $270) I don't really use 1st anymore and it seems to pull in 6th from a lower speed without labouring too much as well. I also dont seem to have the loud pedal pushed down anywhere near as much as I used too either. Send Keith an email and see if he can help.
