ETC sensor 1999 TD5

On start up the revs would sometimes go to 850 and then settle down to 600...sometimes a minute or two later go back up to 800-850 rpm...while driving temp gauge would sometimes drop to zero then back up to "normal".....replaced ETC and all fixed.

As in the sensor that measures everything else that isn't already being measured?

ETC? Engine Coolant Temperature sensor?

What engine? TD5 or V8?

ECT is very important to the engine running and auto box
Auto need temp for TC lockup etc.

Sorry, got over enthusiastic with the keyboard and got my T's and C's wheels up...Its the ECT !!!
