So is it true wot I saw on Top Gear?

Is Aus army ordering these?

If so, will they option the AMG engine?

And leather?

'Cause if you *had* to drive a G-Wagen ...

The Aus Army has got 'em. And a very nice bit of kit they are too.

There are pics of them in some threads already.

theres a difference between the ones you got to see on top gear and the like and what the adf got.

think of it this way.

you tell your wife you're getting her a landie and shes expecting an evogue but you turn up with a SIII.

True, but at the price you would expect free roadside assist thrown in ...

No doubt the modern auto club can handle gps coordinates in response to "nearest cross street?" :cool:

Roadside assist for the ADF is generally whatever can be tee'd up with the nearest defence establishment..

A mission critical bit of kit for us can only be transported on the back of the 6X6 perentie, (not even on the 6X6 G-Wagon YET..) So we've taken to putting it on a trailer behind a Mack truck for assurance it gets to its destination. Upside is, if one of the other vehicles in the convoy breaks down we can drive the 6X6 and put the other vehicle on the trailer instead. ;)

Been seeing Gwagens getting around town for ages now, short wagons, 4x4 trays and 6x6 trays. The 6x6 are often pulling a tandem box trailer. The 6x6 on topgear also had portals and was sporty (designed for saudi oil barons I guess), not like these ones in any way I could see.
