Was at the Rosehill Caravan and Camping show yesterday and was looking at the Blackwidow exhibit for drawers etc. They have a unit with one drawer for the 110 and it looks sort of what I am wanting to do to my 90.
Has any fellow forumites fitted the Blackwidow drawer to their Puma - and will it fit the 90? Interested in finding out how they go and if possible some pictures. Very keen to find out.
cheers

Had my BW's in for almost 6 years. Not a problem and they have carry serious weight across many K's of rough tracks.
I have the drawer, cargo barrier, top shelf and the 12v 60L water tank.
No problem in recommending them.

honestly if you want a drawer for your 90
Go to the department of interior in carlton......they custom make the drawers (you have to leave your car with them for the day because they say that the measurements for the defenders are different between cars) and the one they made for our 110 was VERY good quality!!
$1500 for the one we had made...when we looked at BW it was double that!

Thanks Drover - that's quite a clear picture of how the drawer works and the little compartment on the RHS. When I attached my 90 with the tape measure, it seems that the drawer leaves about a foot gap where the drawer ends, giving you a bit of space to stick stuff in - which of course, would be accessible to the driver's compartment as it's would be forward of the cargo barrier. Will probably have to get one of those fitted too, but the shelf on it would come in handy.
Dullbird, is Carlton in Victoria?

Carlton Sydney judging by the phone number.
I like how they load test the drawers (see bottom left pic on their website):twisted:

Real world conditions would dictate a test load at least three times the weight of that depicted in the photo.

Just found out that the Blackwidow drawer for the 110 won't fit the 90 - consequently, Blackwidow don't make any for the 90 because there isn't enough of a demand to warrant making them. Apparently the dimensions are different in the back. I would have thought that they were the same width etc.
Back to the drawing board!

It would only be the length, the 110 drawers are probably to short.

I had my drawer custom made from Caddy Storage
Caddy Drawers & Slides - Van and Ute Drawers | Caddy Storage (http://www.caddystorage.com.au/drawers.html)
Full Steel construction and paid around 1300.- for it. The only downside was to go higher than the wheel arches but this came as plus regarding storage. m

Made enquiries at the Ministry of the Interior in Carlton, Sydney and as Dullbird described the price is half that of Blackwidow. When I rang they said they have to measure the actual vehicle and that Landrover stuff is custom fitted as the dimensions vary from vehicle to vehicle. I am guessing that this is because they are hand made.
Next step is to take the beastie in and get them to measure it up.

Can I suggest you speak to Daniel Fluckiger (aka Mulgo) (see Mulgo Expedition Vehicles | (http://www.mulgo.com.au/)) before you make any decisions. He is very knowledgeable, approachable and well respected on this forum.

Hello There!
Well I must say you should give these guys ago as they deliver..... DRIFTA
I had a whole unit built for my Disco 3 and it was great....until I wished up and got a defender 110......
I sawed the unit in half so I could fit the fridge and drawers in to the Defenders slightly skinner rear....worked well but was a bit awkward...
So I ordered this baby for rear ,
Contact Mark Beech @ Drifta
I am receiving mine in 2 weeks

I have a Drifta draw (with table), essentially the same as herrBlick's. Installed by Mulgo. I am in the process of getting more extensive cupboards, that are designed interactively with Mulgo and they too will be built by Drifta. High quality and custom built to the customers needs. But still a good price! Highly recommend Drifta and Mulgo.

I made my own drawer unit for my Defender but once Daniel (Mulgo) installed his famous Pop-top, the drawers were replaced by a DRIFTA pull-out kitchen and storage units in the back, including an awesome and really solid adjustable table
Build quality is fantastic and I've had no issues with any of the moving parts even after the corrugations and dunes of a 6000km desert crossing.
Talk to Daniel.

Quick update on my drawers (no, not those sort of drawers, besides, I wear a kilt and those sort of drawers are not necessary).
After all the faffing about with drawers and quotes as previously mentioned in this thread, I inevitably ended up at Mulgo and booked the beastie in to get fitted for the Drifta drawer plus a few other goodies.
Car was booked in yesterday and now proudly boasts a drawer in the back - I got the drawer with the slide out table and I had the fridge slide remounted onto the top of the drawer. Also got the rear door strut fitted, Mantec snorkel along with Nugget's water tight box, a UHF aerial and a steering guard/bash plate.
What can I say? Really pleased with the whole lot. It's exactly what I wanted. Daniel is a great guy to deal with and has done a good job.
Looking forward to going away and having everything neatly sorted and stowed away. The last couple of trips were a wee bit messy. Now if I could only get my girlfriend to take less stuff!
Will post some pics in the near future.
cheers
Andrew
