The last two days I've had a pressure guage on the motor.
When hot I get 30psi at 2500. 38 psi at 5200. 8psi at 750rpm. And 1 or 2 psi at 500rpm. So not exactly healthy - but driving around I'm not going to do any damage.
At a cold idle I get 30, and 38 at 2000.
Sometimes the pressure will jump around a couple of psi (especially low in the revs - which may be excess bearing float). It also jumps around higher on the revs which I'm wondering if it's the pressure valves (maybe I assembled them wrong?)
There is also an audible knock on the motor. It's too heavy to be a lifter, but to light to be a bottom end or main. Listening through the stethoscope the right bank sounds perfect, and the left towards the rear is where the knock is heard. I'm hoping logic dictates that if it where a main or big end of be hearing the knock from both banks at the rear - but the bearings have a nice shhhh noise to them. So maybe it's a gudgeon pin - but that wouldn'tbe causing the oil pressure. ..I think.
