Puma radiator- same as td5?

I have a pinhole in the radiator where the shroud has been rubbing on the core, just enough to stain the area with the red of the coolant at present, but I need to fit a new radiator before heading to the Kimberley in a few weeks.
I went to the local radiator shop near work yesterday and the bloke looked in his catalogue, it only listed a radiator for the td5 post 2003 or thereabouts, nothing listed for the tdci post 2008. Just looking at the All Four Spares website via the link on this site, and they have a listing for a 'PUMA td5 radiator'. This has got me wondering if perhaps the Puma radiator is the same as the td5 radiator. Can anyone clarify?

They are the same. Although would recommend if travelling to the Kimberly and in need if a radiator you contact Davis performance Landys and organise an alloy heavy duty radiator

Why is aluminium the preferred material for AM radiators :confused:

Thanks, seems they are the same, at least with the later td5 models. No great surprise, as I found the same thing when looking for an aircon condenser (although that ended up not being needed). I've sourced a stock radiator, have found it quite adequate so far in conditions up to 44 degrees ambient and running the a/c flat out.

It's also the preferred material in OE radiators, has been for some years- not sure whether it is just a cost & weight thing as opposed to copper, or if there is some cooling benefit. One downside is lack of repairability with aluminium & plastic jobbies.
