300tdi exhaust.......flex section/joiner

does a standard tdi have one fitted?

i cannot remember if there was one before i fitted a new exhaust to suit my PTO....

its leaking, just need to confirm its needed. my guess is its there to protect the manifold?

Mine does not have 1 and Im still on the origy system , '96.
I have an inkling they were fitted to the D1? maybe.
