Hi
I thought i would bring up the subject of why i bought a P38, and it's mainly to hit the road with a nice big van for a few years :D
Being able to park the van somewhere and take off for a few days in the hinterland or wherever was also a big consideration.
The P38 has more headroom than the Disco, so that was a clincher there.
So I am thinking as far as suspension mods a lift is not really the go, but Gen 3 bags and maybe the britpart shocks are a good idea.
Any ideas most welcome.
Steve
Oh yeah and being a Land Rover tragic played it's part:angel:

When you say "hit the road" I guess that is some long distance touring?
If so my recommendation would be to forget the GenIII's ( I have them)
and they do ride more firmly than original bags in std height setting.
They are softer in offroad mode however. So horses for courses so to speak.
Cant comment on britpart shocks though.

Personnally I'd recommend the genIIIs to anybody and everybody. I reckon their opposite spring rate compared to OEMs makes sense and feels more planted when you need it. Reckon their stretchability provides assurance. And reckon they should prove less leak prone over the long term (but can't really back that up). Didn't arnott supply the bags in the L322?

Have standard bags on mine, been happy with it with no leak problem to date. It had Firestone bags on before I made the change and seemed ok too.

Yeah - not sure how the GenII's and III's compare. I can only compare OEM to GenIII. It'd be interesting to go back to OEM now, and see how they felt.

Having gone to gen3 about 6 months ago I would recommend them. When fully loaded the hwy setting is amazing. Previously it was unusable on all but the smoothest roads as the spring would just flop around. They are a lot less prone to bottoming out too, which is a big plus when towing.
