Hi there,

In the last couple of weeks each time i start my 2009 SE D3 the trip computer and odometer will automatically reset. I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues and knows what may be causing this?

Also sometimes a warning will appear on start up saying my park brake has a fault and auto release is not available. would this be related?

Cheers,

Dave

At a guess, you have a wiring fault, or break in the CANBUS ring.

You'd need to get a fault reader on it to start with.

Is the trip computer set on auto? This will reset each time the ignition is switched on. D4 has this feature

You'll find a Faultmate, or similar, a very worthwhile investment.

Any ideas where I could purchase a faultmate msv-2 extreme with two vehicle capability? Seems the company i was looking at some time ago no longer is around. Is it best to just order it from BBS?

Cheers

Could be your battery is running down.
I had the trip meter reset every start just before the battery went U.S.
So maybe have that checked.

Well after all that, it was the battery was on its way out. Nice easy fix and an even better excuse to convince the missus I needed a diagnostic tool :p

Cheers for your help guys!
