I was thinking about the changes made to my car (D4 MY12 HSE)since it began its journey down the assembly line. I though I would create a list front to rear. So here it is.

Factory fitted extras:
Zenon lights
Mud flaps (these have been shredded in use and replaced with identical EBay version)
Cold pack (I really like the heated steering wheel)
Rear electronic diff lock

Fitted subsequently:
Opposite Lock winch bar
Halogen Driving Lights (I know, but they were "free" with the bar. And I have the Xenon headlights which are pretty damn good anyway.)
Traxide SC - 80 to Andersen plugs for trailer, for rear of cabin (Thumper) and extra accessory sockets (fridge)
GOE 18 inch wheels (x6) with Bridgestone D697 LT tyres
GOE suspension rods
GOE rock sliders with steps and compressor protection plate.
Radio Icom IC-440
TPMS (tyre monitoring) This system is no longer available. And it has let me down twice.
Ram mount with Sony Android tablet for mapping and Bluetooth connection to engine management. Information.
OEM heavy rubber floor mats and cargo area mat.
Front Runner roof racks and accessories (awning, gas bottle holder, and Maxtrax.)
Modified spare wheel winch to allow use with 3rd row seats folded.
Front Runner rear wheel carrier.

Repairs:
Compressor replaced under warranty.
A couple of door seals.
Both passenger door skins replaced (a nasty sideways tilt onto a rock ledge before I had the rocksliders)

And what is left to do:
A set of drawers for rear cargo area.

A winch is not on my list but I carry a hand winch with my recovery gear as a last resort .

I consider everything on this list essential........or at least that is what I told my wife :D

For some reason, the picture in your post is not visible. However, rock sliders are available here Green Oval Experience Land Rover training, Range Rover modifcation (http://www.greenovalexperience.com/#!protection-plates/c1t9f)

The pic does not show up in the post, but if you click on it you can see. I right clicked and selected show picture (nothing happened) then clicked on the icon and up it opened up. I think it's that well accessorised vehicle off Carsales. Fro memory the rock sliders are listed as being Terrafirma.

Hi Brd. Yes I did collect my wheels this week. Wednesday in fact. New tyres fitted Thusday. I'm sure we can work out a way to see the Rock sliders. By all means feel free to send a PM.

And Torero22, I can't see your picture either. My sliders are from Green Oval Experience as per the link from sheerluck.

And now I can see the pictures in Torero22's post.

Yes they are rock sliders. The rock slider part is the part covering the chassis rails. The "steps" or rails provide a side/standoff protection. They would have saved my doors if I had put them on earlier. The GOE sliders look just like your pictures.
I have the same wheel carrier, and the shorter version of the same roof rack as shown in your pick. I don't see the need for a long roof rack as the dynamic weight limit is easily reached with a short rack.

I thought the rock sliders would be best mounted off the chasis, how do they protect the body seals if they are mounted to the body ?

If you hit something it will bend the under body ?????

I don't get it.

These Forum photo's might be of interest:

and
http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-rrs/137969-off-road-equipment.html

They are very solid with the fixing both on the side and underneath using factory fixing points.

Sliders with extension off the main chassis would not be as good because:
1 - a lower ground clearance
2 - the air reservior would limit the fixing and the mount size.
3 - this would result in a step that would bend more easily.

The above sliders because of their shape and the already very strong factory sill shape are more than ample.
