Hi Guys
Quick one - l run 255/85 16s on Boost alloys.
They obviously rub on spring hangers.
Will 0 offset Dynamic Steel wheels resolve this?
Thanks,
Mike

Of course, 53mm further out (ea).
However, if it is important to you the vehicle will now be unroadworthy.

Thanks for that.
Being un-roadworthy is an issue...
How can l stay legal?

I run 20mm offsets with 265x7516s they just keep It in the guards . That keeps It legal , and It handles ok on rubbing against the upper spring cups .Jim :)

33mm further out based on the same wheel width. not 53mm

Will the 0 offset push the 255s outside the wheel arch?

Its been a while since I had std arches with the 255's on 0 offset wheels on my TD5 but I am pretty sure they sat inside.
I've just had a look back through some old pictures, and they do appear to be just inside the arch.

My 255's are just under the arch but it's borderline.
And going from HD 130 rims the tyre is only sitting 20mm further out. :D

So they will be legal then?
Does this offset help with stability at all?

If I can find a level piece of concrete I'll swing my 1200mm level from the arch past the tyre and take a photo. ;)

In Qld its not just about keeping them covered, there is also a max allowable track width increase ( I think it may 25mm per side)
No idea what it is where you are and if you feel it a problem or not. Of coarse keeping them under some sort of flare will lessen the attention you attract I would say

Most states are 50mm track increase for a live axle 4x4, but bloody NSW brought that back to 25mm in the last 15 years.

on my TD5 110 the 255/85's on zero offset sat inside the wheel arch, just. No rubbing on spring hanger. Looks normal so no need for special attention by the boys in blue. As for legalities, your state road authority will have published material on that issue. It's not a huge stretch to get them engineered. Bit costly though for the piece of paper.
