Hi All,
Just installed a new wiper motor (front). How does a man get worm drive threaded through and get the wipers in correct start position?

I have fed it in - allowing the wipers to rotate, but when the drive is in all the way, the wipers are not lined up?

Is there a trick to it....??

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Try removing wiper arms and repositioning them after the wiper motor has "parked". without a pic its hard to see what the problem is...lol:cool:

Take both arms off the spindles, switch the wipers on and then off.
They should wipe and then return to their "park" position
You can the refit the wiper arms in the park position

while we are on the subject of wipers (I don't mean to hijack)

but my wipers have a terrible habit of going past the park position and running into the little gutter under the wind screen making a very annoying repetitive *tap* *tap* *tap*

does it about 80% of the time and only seems to happen to the drivers side wiper.

can this be fixed the same way? or is something worn out in there?

was thinking about sticking a bit of rubber on the gutter to stop it.

Same as above
Remove the arms and run the wipers
When you switch them off they should park and then you refit the arms
If they are not parking in the same place every time replace the park switch which is a small white block that the wiper wiring attaches to on the side of the wiper motor. Easy to change.

Sounds like your wiper spindle wheel box is worn. Hardest bit of replacement job is getting the dash off!

The dash is a pain but if you go slowly, remove ALL screws and be gentle all will be ok!

It took me 2 hours.
