Well last week the old girl (D2a Td5) started loosing coolant. Buggered if I could find out where it was coming from, or where it was going.
Oh **** I thought, I've done a head gasket:(
In she went to AMV today and at 11:30 I got the call..... radiator:D. Oh and the trans cooler was weeping so while they had the radiator out, they did that too. Last but not least, there was a small split in the header tank. So another bit.....
Anyway, it all ended up costing me about 1/2 what I was expecting and she's back on the road as of 4:00 today.
Great service and reasonable costs from AMV in Ringwood. Thanks guys

My cousin takes his defender to them, and previously his d2.
They've always been great.

I'm on my original radiator, wondering whether or not to replace it as a preventative measure. But then I have heard of them lasting for 200 odd thousand k"s
Good outcome mate.

Mine was replaced around 2k's... a good mechanic noticed a minor weep, so we pulled it....it was totally knackered.

I got a good deal from Greg on the parts price as I deal with him for grease and so on (I sell grease and oil/diesel additives). I paid around $1200 but normally you'd need to add about $250 to this. That included a LR 'A' radiator which is the genuine one but not in a LR box. Everything else is genuine LR.
Just to answer the earlier question, as far as I know, this was the original radiator, trans cooler and header tank. 340k is pretty good I think.
