Thinking of using the following camera, in black & PAL, for reversing mounted where the factory fitted unit would be normally fitted.
Mirror Switcher Metal Design Front Side Rear View HD CCD Car Backup Camera | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/121198720765'ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)

Back up plan is to use this one
CCD 360°CAR Front Side Rear View Reverse Camera FOR ALL Brand NEW Good Quality | eBay (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271416146993'ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)

The reversing camera will be connected to the reversing input of my new Sound system - pioneer.
The side and camper cameras will be connected to the Camera system I bought - see below next post.

The second camera unit above will be installed on each side mirror. Depending on visibility I may put two on each side, On the mirror - to get full length visibility.

Back to the reversing camera:
I have seen the other units that replace one of the Number plate lights, but don't really like those.
I have seen someone place a camera above the top door, But I don't want to drill through metal.

Anyone else used the factory mount on the rear door & what camera did you use ?

Regards
Tor

This is the Camera system I am using MM10-3P (http://mypolaris.com.au/mm10-3p/)

Picked it up at the 4WD & Camping show.

The unit has 4 video inputs (yes even though the video says 3), with the capability to show up to 3 at one time.

I intend to connect 3 cameras on my 4WD camper trailer, rear reversing, Left front and right front. These front cameras should allow me to see along the full length of the trailer of each side. The 3 trailer cameras will be connected via a 13 pin trailer connector. The trailer plug terminates into a video switch inside the cabin of the Disc and be able to switch between trailer and Vehicle camera sets.

The Vehicle will have one or two cameras per side mirror to allow me to see around the car.

The Camera display will be mounted on my centre roof console, along with head unit of UHF radio & external speaker.

Let me know if you are interested in details.
