That wheel is a mile away from where I was born. It is a masterpiece of engineering.

Quite an interesting show :) They were showing land rovers in the trailer so maybe they will be featured in a future episode.

Rimmer still looked and talked like Rimmer!
Thought the commentary for the Rapide was a bit OTT; good footage though.
Was impressed by the steam truck.

I watched it last night, interesting that the English concieved the high speed tank, only to have it perfected by the Germans in the mid 30's to be used against them.and I can remember the Mallard setting the world steam speed record, it was big news at the time and was shown at the movies in the newsreels.

I assume you mean the Napier Deltic diesel engine, as fitted to the Ton class minesweeper , started with an over grown shot gun cartridge. Bob

"Fine"?...ABSOLUTELY,....it was absolutely immaculate, I was commenting to Wifey that I don't think they would've been that good from the factory.
Great program last night, I remember the Deltic Diesels & the B1, but not the detail shown in last night's program. I also remember the Vulcan & the Comet. Great days being a schoolboy in the UK in those days!

G'day Bob,
Yes, they took the Engine from it (or similar;)), and used it to power a Diesel Locomotive, instead of steam. Was Brilliant. You might say, they had an excellent Train of thought...........
To design an engine like that, just boggles the mind.
I just love the British way of thinking.

My TV guide says tonight's episode on 7 Two Prime at 7:30 covers the 1940s.
That should include the Series I, shouldn't it?
