AJ is nothing if not a Liberal man through & through, but then again he is getting stuck into Campbell Newman! I know many people hate Jonesy, but he is certainly there in the corner of the farmer and I like him because he calls a spade a spade.

... he calls a spade a spade.

Sometimes.
And sometimes he needs a spade to shovel all the crap out of his mouth.
I can appreciate his position on one or two things, but for the most part I find him to be full of unwarranted vitriol.

The problem is that as well as calling a spade a spade, he also calls a shovel a spade and he calls a hoe a spade and a garden fork a spade and a knife and fork a spade. :D In fact he will call anything a spade if he thinks that will appeal to his fans.

It has been clearly established that he does not check his "facts"; he just says what he thinks will confirm the prejudices of his listeners.

Yep, bit like some newspapers these days just pander to their (identified) target demographic consumers.

The 'Age' used to do excellent investigating big pic stuff in the 80's, but now seems to be just a fashion accessory for the green socially conscious residents of inner city Melby, who live incredibly unsustainable lifestyles.

Ask him about public toilets. This usually gets him to froth at the mouth even more than usual.

I can't understand why people listen to him, an opinionated bigoted old fruit.

I can't understand why people listen to commercial radio, especially AM stations.

I wouldn't take anything Alan Jones says seriously, he doesn't do serious news, just kneejerk waffle. The only reason he survives on that station is he's a part-owner of it.

Just imagine if Morris West was alive !
Between what happens now regarding corruption and the issues within the Catholic church he would be able to write hundreds of interesting books!
We need someone to take his place :)
