Report – Land Rover wants to make new Defender “very affordable”

This may have already been posted but it's interesting...

Land Rover wants to make new Defender "very affordable" (http://indianautosblog.com/2014/05/2016-land-rover-defender-design-129943)

doesn't explain how the new Defenders will be more affordable, but I have a guess that manufacturing them in India might have something to do with it!

cheers
Andrew

Not sure I like the sound of that… I like the fact that my crumple zone is whatever is unfortunate enough to get in the way.

But in all seriousness, it will be interesting to see what the new one looks like and how it compares off road.

There seems to be much reference to: quote"... looks “completely different from the original vehicle”."

So not the DC-100, but something that could look just as drastically different. I'm hoping that India will continue to produce the current Defender just like Brazil continued to produce the original VW Bug for many years.

Hopefully he meant that it looks completely different to the DC100 concept.

Affordable to whom? People who own oil fields?
