Hi fellow defenders,
I have just ordered a MY15 Defender 90.
The accessories are clearly too expensive, so I haven't ordered any.
It's been 7 years since my last 90, so I need some help.
Can you recommend where to buy the key accessories? In Hills District Sydney...
Soft (non winch) bumper
Light guards
Tow bar kit
Ergo seats
Lockable cubby box
Rubber floor mats
Is there anything I should order from Land Rover as it's hard to get aftermarket?
Appreciate the help, it would take me hours and hours to research.

- Tow bar you can get the OEM part from LR parts for $400 and fit yourself, we were quoted $1800 as an "accessory" :o
- For lockable cubby option it would probably be worth looking at the exbox from Mulgo (http://www.expeditioncentre.com.au/online-store/land-rover/defender/mulgo-exbox.html).
- Get the dealer to throw in the rubber mats for free!
- For the bumper and seats you might try Landybitz (http://www.landybitz.com.au/), a regular on here, think he does the occasional import from the UK and can source stuff from there.

I got lr tow bar, 800 installed, I think.
Watch out with light guards, there are lots of places selling the same thing for very different prices. I got mine from the UK.

Also got a winch bar from UK.
Floormats came as part of my package I didn't pay for them. Also got front mud flaps.

Sent from my Land Rover A8.

On my 90 the first this I fitted was a aux fuel tank. Worth every cent, I now travel in excess of 1000 km between fill, rather than twice a day when travelling.

What's the details of your aux tank?
How many litres, where is the fill point, where does it sit under the vehicle?

This sounds exactly like what I want to do with my 90.
60L seems small for a 4wd in my opinon. Standard range would be approx 500km (terrain dependent of course), and I'd love to get about 1000km out of full tanks if possible.
I'd like the security of more volume without having to carry jerry cans everywhere. Especially living outside of a larger city.

...............where is the fill point........................

Mulgo does a conversion on the standard filler so you can fill multible tanks from the original position, no need to drill new holes in your panels. I think these are done on a change over.

I have both passenger and driver side belly tanks (ones imported from South Africa by Dolium) in my D90. Total fuel capacy is now 142 litres (original 60 litres + passenger 40 litres + driver 42 litres). I have separate fillers for each. Not sure whether you can fill the passenger side tank via the normal filler but Mulgo could advise on that. I do know that it is a bit slower to fill your driver-side tank using the 'splitter' conversion that Mulgo makes. Both the fuel pumps that come with my Dolium tanks packed it in after only 2 years!

+1 for the dual sill tanks from Mulgo:cool:. I regularly get over 1200km's from the full setup. I have the splitter so I only have one filler point. It works great and I haven't really noticed that it takes any longer. I suspect if the breather points aren't done right it might make things slow, but mine is full speed for either/any tank. 42 litres in the passengers side sill tank (actually 40 in the tank and 2 in the hose going across), 40 litres in the drivers side sill tank and then 60 litres in the standard tank.

Also +1 on the service and quality of goods from Daniel at Mulgo. A real pleasure to deal with.:)

I've fitted L&R sill tanks on a customer's D90 with the Mulgo split filler. You can fill all three tanks from the one filler point. I found the drivers side sill tank slower to fill than the main tank and the passenger side tank was slower again to fill, not painfully slow, just slower than the other tanks. The problem is with the plumbing as the filler hose for the sill tanks has to go over the rear spring which limits the fall from the filler.
You can see the new hose in this pic, also the splitter to the two sill tanks.

Thanks, JayBoRover.

I can confirm that the trick to get the tanks filling properly is to have the breather lines installed correctly (ie no ups and downs, just gradually going up to where you join into the main breather at the filler.

Daniel (aka Mulgo)

This fuel capacity increase is cool.
So plug and play, not major mods.
Definitely an important option.

Also, it appears that current model 90, as opposed to my 1991 model does not have handles on the A Pillars to assist driver and front passenger in getting in.
Does anyone know where to get these?

That's right, as long as you have the double neck filler, there's no drilling holes in panels etc, everything just bolts up to existing holes and chassis outriggers.

Thanks, we have been exchanging emails.
I've ordered your wheel mount....

All others, thanks for your comments, I've now had the 90 for a week and love it.
I will post pics as soon as I work out how to do that!
