Hi All, hopefully you all can suggest and/or help. I have acquired all my late fathers slides (some 4000+) and prints and have started to scan them unto an external hard drive. What I would like to do is find an on-line storage site that i can store them in, but family and friends need to be able access them, to help name/date and download any copies they would like. With the Scots blood coming out in me, free would be good.
Cheers and thanks in advance.

IMO to store images on line and be easy to access by visitors the images have to be @ low resolution like 72dpi and not bigger that 250k
Images at full resolution will be between 6 mb in jpg to over 55 mb each in Tiff format.

I use Drop Box for various things.
One is to backup the photos I take with my phone, as I lost a stack once due to a problem.
You can get a free account, and then create a sharing folder, and just give people the link to the folder. They can view, download, edit & add their own photos to the same folder.
If you want more storage than the free account offers, then you can purchase more space.

I use Google Picasa, if you have a Google account you get 5gig free online storage.

I'd be having a look at www.flickr.com you can set access to the images to family and friends. You can organise the images into sets and also cool slide shows. No drama downloading the images at different resolutions too.
