G'day all.
Today I've been presented with a problem. I noticed what I thought was a leaking tap (outside). It was not leaking, there is a pin hole in the 3/4 copper tube. The pipe protrudes through a neat hole in the bricks and has been hit by something in the past (bent then bent back) and a split has formed in the tube from simply using the tap. It is directly in line with the laundry tub and the pipe work is encased behind a concrete render. I would love to be able to just solder up the pinhole. So my questions are:
What sort of solder should I use, silver or soft?.
What sort of flux is required?.
What type of heat source is required?.
Either that or I'll have to pull out the laundry tub, roughly measure the position from the outside and start cutting concrete.
Any advise greatly appreciated.

soft solder is a propane torch job brazing flux might help and silver solder ( hard ) needs oxy/acetylene.

You shouldn't need any flux , you just need to make sure the copper is really clean and shiny.

Also try and drain down any water out of it ( any taps lower than it ) or at least open the tap so the steam/ water can boil off

Remove the tap so there is no water in the line clean well with steel wool or spirits of salts wash off .Brown tip silver solder no flux required and oxy or TIG for localised heat:cool:

Could try rescue tape for a short term solution as well.
