I know this seems more like the Puma area...:wasntme:

...But can anyone tell me if it's possible to adjust or shim out the lateral play in lift-up type door handles on a County?

The play is across the car rather than up/down. I read on another thread the Series III door handles/locks are different to the County. It's really the front doors that have the issue and I'm not sure if the fact they have locks are a contributing factor in this, or if it's just greater use than the rears.

Cheers for any advice...
Mike

Maybe a suggestion in this post may help (putting in thicker or newer door rubbers....)
If as you say, it's lateral movement, maybe new/improved/thicker door rubbers are the answer?

Also, there is a bit of adjustment with the front hinges and the bulkhead, maybe a little adjustment or new hinges might help with door locks? The hinges do wear out and affect the rest of the door open and closing properly.

Mike.

The slop in the handle is the pin wearing down and/or the hole(s) ovaling out (there may be a bush on the outside...)

Apart from buying a new one, the only option would be to pull it apart and build the worn areas back up with weld and a file/dremel. You can see from the image the inside is just a steel pin in a steel hole.
