Low gas warning alarm

G,day.
I have mentioned a few times that we have a Sprint gas system in The Bitch.
I thought I might say what our problem is.

When the car has warmed up and I switch it over to gas it runs fine for about 10 or maybe 15 minutes driving to town.
Then the low gas warning alarm will go off ( plenty of gas, no leaks ) and I switch back to petrol.
Wont clear untill I have parked The Bitch for awhile at the supermarket, maybe 3/4 hour, then we get going and I switch it onto gas again and it runs fine for about 10 or 15 minutes before the fracking alarm goes off.
Any Idears ?
Its an 800 klm round trip to a service centre, bummer.
What if I disconnect the flamin noisy alarm thingy and just keep driving on gas while keeping an eye on tank level. ?
On the change over switch it has 4 led lights indicating how much gas is in the tank. Yud have to be a nong to let it run dry.

Once the low gas beeper goes off it's already running back on petrol. Pressing the button simply stops the annoying noise. It's a low pressure warning in any case, not a low level warning. You can run a tank dry without any risk at all, it just reverts to petrol and beeps when the pressure finally runs out. There's no mythical crap that gets sucked up the pipe only at a low tank level, the pickup is already at the bottom of the tank.

In your case I'd recommend closing the tap on the gas tank, letting the system idle on gas until it beeps, then dismantling the electric solenoid and looking for a blocked filter under or near the solenoid plunger, depending on the brand of tank. If it's a Sprint gas tank I'd recommend only opening the tap just enough to allow the engine to run properly. They have a particularly sensitive excess-flow valve that triggers at the drop of a hat. I hate the things, won't fit another one, ever.

Make sure there's no-one hanging around with a lit fag hanging off their lip as you dismantle the solenoid, reassemble it, open the tap a bit (1/4 to 1/2 turn) and test for leaks with soapy water with it running on gas before you finish the job.

Also, if changing to gas under load sets off the low pressure warning, try changing over at low throttle instead.

I sent an email to Sprint Gas and they sent back some suggestions to also look at, I have placed it here for you to read.
Bit of luck I might be able to sort it before having to go to Townsville.

I havent.
I have not connected the diagnostics yet but i switch to gas when I am out and about. Slowly emptying the tank.
Goes about 20 klm before the low gas alarm goes off.
I suspect that It might be the liquid filter thingy's as they probably havent been changed for years. But anyones guess.
I would still like to put the gas crap in the skip.
