Guys as of monday just gone my fabrication business has been up and running from my new workshop here in newcastle

I specialize in custom aluminium roof racks storage drawers and storage systems as well as ute canopies and service body's

currently I am designing a kit form 130 canopy that can be supplied in kit form so the buyer can assemble and fit with simple tools spanners/pop rivets and sealant

This canopy will be similar in design to the one I made for my brothers 130 which is in the member ride section cal415's puma

Slidersteps as I call them are also on the boil for both 110 and 130 and I am on the job designing a set to suit the D1 and RRC

also I have a defender roof rack under construction with rear ladder in square alloy tube disco racks and ladders are also in the pipeline

I will post up each item in its own thread as they become available

Also one other item I am making is a land rover trailer axle 45mm square solid bar with 8mm laser cut flanges made to take rover stub axles without having to modify them I can supply these axles in any length pics to come .

So feel free to either PM me or look up my facebook page or call me on 0401648585

Chris when you get things up and running...

can you provide a price list...of everything (of the shelf) that you make..

one of the biggest things I have about companies on the internet these days is they dont put price because they think they are going to scare you away.

however there are a lot of companies out there that simplayare not fast enough or READ emails correctly which makes finding out prices even more an arduous task. :)

Website will be along soon once I work out how to do it as I cant justify the cost I was quoted to have it done as I only need a simple few pages

As for the 130/110 slidersteps have a look at the set I did for micks puma here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/members-rides/135463-cal415s-puma-130-a.html

All the extra bits on the out side were made by me and are available as well as anything else you care to draw up and present me with I can build it :D

Guys I have been busy with other work and not had time to finish the D1 slidersteps hopefully next week

Also I have now had requests for Disco split level roof racks as well as ladders so once I have the current jobs redy to go out the door I will be onto the other goodies and get some pics and info posted in here :D

Chris, forget the Disco roof rack. Disco owners are well served by others.

However, no one makes a good rack for the P38A. I had custom made Tradesman rack on mine but it was too small so I sold it to PaulP38A.

The monstrosity I currently have on mine is rack clamped onto Thule roof bars. It sits a mile high and is as ugly as sin.

We need a low profile rack, maybe like the Safety Devices rack. SD no longer make any racks for Rangies.

Maybe a group buy so you can make a batch of them?

G'day Chris,
I've had my website for a few years now rijidijoffroad.com.au (http://rijidijoffroad.bounce.com.au/home/4551020102), its a DIY website which I managed to build with average computer skills. Basically it costs about $300 per year for access to the online software, and that's it, you have complete control of it.
There's lots of free websites out there, as well as professionally built sites for $$$$, but like you, I just require a few simple pages and after checking out a few I found the 'bounce' software easy to use.
Others might have more suggestions, but so far my site has never crashed or been unavailable for anything more than routine maintenance, so I have no complaints.

The only problem, as I'm sure you will agree, is finding the time to dedicate to yet ' another thing to do'.
Cheers, Murray

If it was just time, I could help with a website. I have never built a website before but have no issues with learning and I have heard that it can be quite simple when using the software a supplied.

So if its only time that is inhibiting you then I'm all ears because its the sort of thing I could do of an evening while going the forum and other pages I keep an eye on. I just wouldn't be expecting anything too high as like I said I haven't done it before

Chris, I bought and used Website X5 V10 Evolution to build these two websites:

Henry Lawson Camera Club (http://hlcc.asn.au/)

and

Import Auto Supply (http://www.importautoberdoo.com/) (the site owner now has the responsibility of maintaining it).

I'm the webmaster for the camera club. The domain name registration and site hosting fees at WebCity are really quite reasonable.

2 year domain name registration and 3 year site hosting - total $164.70

One day I'll redo my own site! :D

I'm happy to write a website for you and help you setup the domain name and hosting... Perhaps we can do a deal as I'm after some rock sliders for my D4

Yes it did on paper I have most of it planned ready to get on the go its just that I need the time to make up a kit and fit it so I can test it firstly

I'll keep an eye on this thread and your site. As i want to get a new canopy made up for my car once i have the cash. Also the light bar mount you have looks great.

As my GF is originally from up your way. I plan on making a road trip up there in a few months to check it out again. So i'll give you a buzz and drop in to chat about some ideas :)

Hi,
I just came across this thread and was wondering if you ended up making a roof rack for the discovery?
I have been looking around and would like to find one more suitable to the disco than just a generic eBay one..
Thanks Troy.
