I am having problems here. It all started last night so I thought I would wait until this morning but it is still playing up.
My problems are.
1/It is slower than dial up.
2/Instant email notifications aren't happening
3/Although not important my post count is wrong.
Is any one else having problems or is it just me?

I think there's a problem with the site dave....
There have been very few posts overnight and it seems a bit slow this morning - I'll take a look this evening and see if it's feeling better :)

Looks like a router problem to me, I would suggest you ask your hosting provider (looks like aapt), it's timing out at 203.63.65.229

could this be part of it?

It could be related to the planned move, but that is unlikely. More likely an equipment issue.
Not sure there is much we can do sadly :(

Ridiculously slow here. It loads the www.aulro.com content, but gets stuck with "waiting for ww2.aulro.com". If I hit escape as soon as I see the ww2.aulro.com part, it ignores whatever is trying to load and works fine straight away.

Yesterday, Fri 23rd May, Oceanic customers hosted on our Adelaide service on SES NSS9 satellite, experienced a major disruption to the service.
The cause was the appearance of a strong interfering signal whose frequency fell across 3 out of 5 of our uplink carrier frequencies.
The effect was twofold
1. About 1/3 of the remotes sites were completely off
2. The rest experienced congestion on the uplink resulting in data loss and slow web response.
After Oceanic reported the issue to SES it was discovered that the interference appeared in Three out of 4 of the transponders that cover the Pacific region.
See Attached Coverage map
The interference appears to emanate from a high power ground station somewhere in the West Hemi Beam
After working with SES most of yesterday, I managed to bring most of the remote sites back online, by relocating our customers to different individual carrier frequencies.
This is only a temporary solution as we are still experiencing considerable disruption to our service.
The issue has been escalated to the highest support level at SES for resolution
Where do we go from here?
In the interim, SES are looking to relocate our carrier frequencies to a reserved part of the spectrum until the source of the interference is discovered and eliminated.
Hopefully this will happen today.
During the relocation process there may be instances where the links will go down for a few minutes whilst equipment is being reconfigured at the HUB in Adelaide.
Oceanic sincerely apologizes for this service disruption and can assure you that we are working as hard as possible o see it resolved.
Unfortunately the cause of it is completely outside of our control.
vnx205
27th May 2014, 03:32 PM
I'm not sure if the following information just confuses the issue or provides further evidence to support someone's diagnosis of the nature of the problem.
I have had no problems whatsoever over the last few days. Speed is normal.
However I was experimenting last night with creating a bootable USB to help a friend try Ubuntu o some other Linux distro on his netbook. When I tested it on a laptop, found the same snail's pace loading that others have described. At the same time my desktop continued to load at normal speed.
The laptop has better specs than my desktop and I was using the same OS as my desktop. About the only significant difference was that my desktop has a cable connection to my ADSL router and the laptop was a WiFi connection. Other sites loaded at normal speed on the laptop.
The laptop behaved the same with a couple of other Linux distros.
I'm not worried because my desktop machine continues to load AULRO at normal speed, but at least I can now see why some people are complaining so bitterly. :p

VVEERRYY slow to load here too, Just been able to get on & see that the problem is not just confined to me.
Good luck Dave, I hope you are good and that when you are able, the problem won't be too hard to fix.

Interesting observation that may assist some users until the root cause of the slowness is sorted.
Using Chrome browser on windows - when the page says its loading - but the screen is still blank, I hit the "X" to stop loading the page - and its instantly loads!
It does not appear to work on IE or Firefox, but works every time in chrome.
Browsing is still slow... but this little trick is making it quite usable.
Cheers, Mark
P.S. - Same behaviour on OSX - the Chrome trick works, but not on Safari of Firefox for Mac

What he said! :BigThumb:
Relax and enjoy your time away Inc.
If it makes a few of us slow down a little - that's probably not a bad thing.
What you supply is an amazing service for what most of us pay.;)

agree with this. been doing it last couple of days. use google chrome as browser. click the "x" next to the arrows for back a page or forward a page once the circle on the page tab turns blue and starts spinning clockwise. if you're in the northern hemisphere it might spin the other way:)

Ridiculously slow here. It loads the www.aulro.com (http://www.aulro.com) content, but gets stuck with "waiting for ww2.aulro.com". If I hit escape as soon as I see the ww2.aulro.com part, it ignores whatever is trying to load and works fine straight away.
I had some time to kill this evening... So had a look, ww2.aulro.com is not responding, this is what is holding up the page from loading as it hosts a Java script: http://ww2.aulro.com/adsrv/www/delivery/spcjs.php?id=1&target=_blank
As a workaround to speed up my loading I put an entry in my hosts file pointing ww2.aulro.com to my localhost.
Now for some full speed surfing.
Cheers

If it was photos of Interlaken you wanted, maybe these will do until Ferret finishes his beer and posts some shots.

You would probably need good eyesight to see those views from where you are now.
They are about 60km away at Lucerne.
Did you specify Switzerland in your original comment because you were aware that there is also an Interlaken in Tasmania?
