I got around the issue by putting a bottle of "Slime" into all my small pneumatic tyred tools (Wheel barrow, Sack truck etc)

I understand but I think the worst change has been making the front bar square across the wheel, like this:

instead of curved around like this:

One can no longer tilt the barrow to negotiate tight corners, the bar digs in.

You'll have to send a bottle of that "Slime" to Landyandy so that he can try some in his chinese frangers. :p

I've tried vulcanising patches (the ones that use heat) but they just don't stick to the "rubber" tubes any more. I don't know what tubes are made from these days so I looked into Slime.
Slime isn't cheap! I checked it out last week.

I worked with a guy years ago who said all he did for the first three years of his apprenticeship as a joiner was drill holes in wooden barrow handles and stack them on pallets to ship out. You wouldn't think they would sell that many barrows.

Worst thing they did to a wheelbarrow is making those lightweight things, useless!
I think one good improvement to a wheelbarrow is this....

Handles are generally too close together on alot of them too. Cant get in there and lift heavy loads.

Hi,
yep, handles should be just wide enough not to bark knuckles going in through a standard door frame.
I hate these new narra barras.
cheers

And my wheel barrow tyre is stamped "not for highway use", so does that mean I am not allowed to walk along highway pushing the barrow? :p

Some Idiot let a bean counter have a say in it.

Probably a typo.
I'm sure it says "not for highways use"
That's why you always see them leaning on their shovels, instead of doing any work.

We have a 1000 + barrows, used for pushing oil palm bunches out of the plantation, through all sorts of slush. So have some expertise here
The best thing you can do, put nylon bushes in and throw away the bearings.
The worst thing, carry leaky fertilizer sacks in tin foil barrows.
