MY13 phone book default

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether the phone book default listing can be changed to "surname" first rather than "first name" or do I need to do it via my IPhone settings please. May be silly but I remember surnames rather than first names & I have several Ian's (for example) & would prefer to have Smith come up first in the search menu than Ian, then have do the surname.

I think it would be dependant on how your contacts are set to be displayed on your phone when it is paired and your contacts are downloaded to the cars system. Maybe set your contacts on your phone to be displayed last name first, then re-pair and download contacts to the phonebook. Worth a try!

Thanks Mungus. I believe you may be correct. I think it just downloads the phone listing as displayed on the phone so I shall give it a burl.

+1 My android phone does this too - phonebook is in the same order as my contacts on the phone.

If it helps, I concur...

I have just updated my phone, and when I connected the new phone to the car, it uploaded all the contacts in the same order as they are in the phone.

So, I am thinking that the car just reads the book, and recites what it reads... ;)
