Hi Guys,
I haven't had a goog look under the beast but the price of a new XYZ Switch price scared the daylights out of me...
I will check the connections as the fault lights are intermittent and the selection of gears is the same. Was only recently serviced so a dodgy connection or crud in the lug is quite possible but should the switch be faulty, would there be any chance is a serviceable part.

Best wishes,
Shirley. email: smh101@exemail.com.au

2000 D2 XYZ Inhibitor Switch - Is it repairable? YES

It is not manufactured to be repaired, however, frequently the problem is the result of moisture ingress causing dirty tracks. It is possible to dis-assemble the switch, clean up the tracks & wiper and re-assemble.

Have a look in The Good Oil - there's a tutorial there.

A rebuild/cleanup guide is available at http://www.aulro.com/afvb/projects-tutorials/130106-rebuild-d2-zf-selector-switch-uhb100190.html

The part number is uhb100190 - looks like there is only genuine and OEM units for sale?
