As of today

I ordered in March
Quote
I’ve been chasing updates from LR with my stock controller and the latest on your vehicle is;
There has been no Defender order runs for May or June now and car has been pushed into a July production run.
But
Silver Pack :)
and
DSC :)
and
Leather Seats (new):D

So overall not such a bad thing, but it would appear to be a fairly congested production queue, so if ordering don't leave it too late.

Sounds nice. I would double check the DSC however as I don't believe any MY14 has it, and Australia wont get it at all was my understanding.

G'Day. What do you mean by "No defender Order Runs"....etc?
I'm familiar with the black & silver options & leather seats, what does this mean for you?....will your vehicle have these options, and if so, which ones.
All good, Pickles.

My order date was mid April, manufacture mid May and from the dealers reports it is on its way. This was for the last run of Firenze Red (and Tamar Blue) so maybe its different to silver or greys.

The issue with DSC is new though. Can you advise where you heard this from and are their any others in the know that can verify that no DSC?

My 2014 build (Jan) has no DSC.

From the LR website - There was reference somewhere to it being europe market only aswell which I cant find at the moment:

https://www.landrover.com/au/en/lr/about-land-rover/news-overview/defender-black-pack/

Dynamic Stability Control
From 2015 Model Year the 90 station wagon and 110 Station wagon will be fitted with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) as standard. This will be packaged with ABS and therefore means that these Defender models will have ABS with Electronic Traction Control (ETC) and DSC as standard. ABS will also be available for the first time on 130 wheel base Defender models.

Nice work Andy, with that colour and options pack it sounds like it will be one of the most sought after Defenders going around.

Out of interest, if you look on Carsales there are a couple of 2013 model 110 Defs at $47,888 drive away in Tas which seems decent value. Were you able to negotiate much discount for yours? Don't feel obliged to say how much you paid but I'm curious to know if you need to pay a big premium for ordering a 2014 plate car with higher spec.

To clarify,
Mine is a MY15 plated, only last weekend was i advised that this has occurred, and hence DSC being fitted. The week before was advised the Black & Silver packs were coming to Australia after earlier being told no.
So the delay has worked out well for me. I chose the Silver pack and the leather seats with the red inserts. I already had the premium seats on order.

The Silver Pack is 3300, Black Pack is 1800 & seats 2620. But i dropped the Sawtooth wheels, so actually costing less than the original config.

Mate sounds like that worked out well for you.

So did your dealer indicate that there was no production capacity in May/June?

Mine is meant to have been built this month (May) for an August delivery. Would actually be pretty happy if it got bumped back to July also for an MY15 build.

I can only by the quote in the first post, not sure if that refers to Austral, Australia, or the World.

I imagine the Dealer cannot move it once a production date is locked in.

The waiting is killing me !

Sounds VERY nice indeed my friend.
Can't wait to see something like this in the flesh.

On April 01, I received this reply from a Tassie dealer:

"Thank you for your enquiry about a new Land Rover Defender.
From all reports Dynamic Stability Control will be standard on MY15 Defender 90 and 110 variants.

Production for these is expected to begin approx. July 2014, it is generally a 2 month time frame to ship them out to Australia, so I would expect a July build to arrive in October."

I ordered my defender in march for an April build date. Rang the dealer today and he said it was on the ship already and I should be looking for a delivery in the second half of June... Exciting!

We've now been told the run will result in a possible December delivery date

And as per yours, all the bits are piling up in the workshop for its impending arrival.

Thanks, no we didn't order the CC pack.
Climate here is generally warm to hot. A few winter days run cold but nothing too drastic

Correction... A quick email now has the cold climate pack on the build - SWMBO does drive to work at silly hours in the cold of winter :)

Have the CC on our 90. well worth it for the heated screen part, clears the screen much faster than the air vents ,actually the seats turned on are very comforting also.......cheers

Aaahh, very good mate, glad to be of assistance.
Most important, Ya GOTTA look after SWMBO. Karen loves'em,..cold day, or even not so cold,...she switches 'em on. Just a word of warning, when you access the seat box, look out for the heated seats' leads.

Anyone done an Ex-Box install with the CC pack? Does it make any difference to the relocation of electronics or the possible uses for the storage area under the seats?

SWMBO insisted we get the pack also and i wasnt man enough to say no! (for window defrost/fog only of course ha ha)

Cheers.
