Hi all. Wondering what the approx trade in value for an 09 D3 TDV6 SE with 310 thousands kms and a tiny bit of body damage might be, roughly?

Looking to buy it, but will depend what the seller is offered as a trade as to if it's in my price range. Would be interested in what members think it might get offered...?

Thanks

I dunno probably about $18 they will offer trade in, i dunno they are being really bad with trade ins at the moment and 310kms is a bloody lot of kms.

60,000km per year on average is incredible. It travelled about 120kms per day on the freeway to and from his work, and did a lot of country driving too. Hoping to be able to pick up for 12k...

Seems the difference between what the dealers want to pay and what the item may be "worth" to users is often quite big.
Had a recent report of a 2010 RR sport (diesel I think), low K's, taken to a dealer, couldn't get $31k, so sold it to family friends for $31k.
Wish I had heard about it first.
My D3 has done 300k (90% long bitumen runs, nil towing, bar work, dual carriers, R racks, snorkel, faultless mechanical/body), I wouldn't part with it for $25k, so if you can get that D3 for $12k, that would seem like value.

How did you go? Did you buy the D3?

I wouldn't mind having to pay for a few wheel and possibly diff bearings for having only paid that price!

Astounding. The dealer must have been positively uninterested in buying it. Maybe they thought it would be difficult to even sell to a wholesaler with that many km. Probably true.

But that many km on that young a car is a lot different to buying a 15 year old car with those km.

Good one.

Definitely.
There's an MY09 D3 with 255,000km on carsales from a dealer asking $23800. So $8500 is great value particularly if you don't do many km.

Wow! You could put a new engine in for 15K and have a D3 with no kms for 23.5K, doesn't matter how you look at it it's cheap

Cheers

I think all the running gear might cost him a little bit more!
Gearbox, Transfer, Diffs.
Not even getting into the suspension.

But yes even if he does have some issues to sort out he will still be ahead.

Wow Wil, that is a brilliant price, are you going to keep the D2 as a play toy now?? :D

Thanks all. I'll celebrate when I have both keys and it's in my driveway lol. Waiting on 3 signatures, hopefully get them before 2pm today so that the finance company can do the transfer tonight and I drive her home tomorrow.

Baz, the D2 will stay here for a few months for step-sons to drive, then will possibly be sold to my son. That'll depend on how much hassle I have to go through to get it roadworthied. If it's too much I'll just wreck it.
