Recently saw an ex army "trailer for sale" It was a dog trailer which has 2x "ends" when "split" Each end of the trailer bollts to each end of a 20/40ft shipping container - forming a trailer. It has a hydraulic pump on each end that lifts the container off the ground . GVM approx 12 tonnes . The Army appear to be the only users in Australia.
For off road/rough road they appear to be a good bit of gear.
Has anyone had experience with these in the army -

Not really for use on the road, US Airforce use them a fair bit, referred to as mobilisers, mostly used to drag stuff around an airfield and into and out of a plane.

terminal operations area equipment only.

and you dont want to lift a saggy container or a bad container with them.

Mmm, M1022 Mobilisers, brought for a number of uses, but yes, shifting containers on and off aircraft was why these were brought. Used in East Timor I think.
