Hi
I started getting a random "bulb failure left hand indicator" messages so I pulled the bulb holder and one of the terminals was black! So I pulled them both out.
I treated them with Deoxit, 4 or 5 times over about 3 hours, as you can see the before and after pics (excuse the quality of the before pic) it now looks much better.:p
After cleaning I use the Deoxit gold conditioner.
I must say this stuff is excellent it is the replacement for Cramolin, which we used on recording console switches in the 80's.
If you decide to get some don't buy the aerosol it doesn't go far

Hi
Put the connectors back on this morning and hey presto, no more error message and nice bright front indicators :p
I now make it a practice to treat any connector I remove on the beast with this stuff and then the conditioner.
BTW I have no connection with this company, I just know this stuff is bloody good.
It's much more than just a contact cleaner which only dissolves grease and grime.

I've never heard of it. From where did you obtain it?

I hadn't heard of it either but Google lead me to Jaycar earlier today:
Jaycar Electronics - Search results deoxit (http://www.jaycar.com.au/productResults.asp?keywords=deoxit&keyform=KEYWORD&SUBMIT.x=6&SUBMIT.y=9)

Hi
Yes Jaycar have it I found the aerosol went very quickly so now I just use the brush on version.
When I got my beast I read about all the electrical nightmares and thought Cramolin is the stuff for this, then I discovered it had been replaced by Deoxit, so I bought some and gave it a whirl,

I had a recent positive experience with Deoxit fixing sensitive electronic contacts with a wide carriage inkjet printer. I bought a kit for both gold and brass cleaners and protecting fluids with bottles with brushes from Jaycar, as said above. If I recall that kit only cost about $30, which was a bargain and there is an Australian importer/distributor who stocks large volume or similar specialist anti corrosion fluids from the same maker through local electronic suppliers - who I cannot recall at the moment. I'm currently also using the Deoxit gold fluid successfully with laptops and motorcycles. Regards,
Gary.
