Testing the tilt angle

Hi guys
was testing the tilt angle on the car in the blue mountains.
Not on purpose mind you. Just got my line all wrong trying to traverse son of bob.

Notice my hand hold :eek:

Main lessen learnt - when it starts going pear shaped, point your wheels down the slope!!

Eeek, yes wheels down slope and no matter how tempting don't stick hand out window to hold on. Met a bloke missing and arm once who lost it because it was out the window when he rolled the car.

I wonder if somebody could come up with the electronics from the original Kinetic suspension and patch it into the Discovery electronics.
With the Kinetic system the uphil suspension would lower to its minimum hieght,increasing safety and off-road ability.
Another great WA invention,I once saw the Kinetic HiLux mule in testing at Lancelin,they were driving it sideways on sandhills!!!!.They also built an Army 110 with the system and tried selling it to the British Army
Toyota bought it for the 200 series,I doubt its the version the original HiLux had;););););)

It seems they did play with Land Rovers:cool::cool::cool::cool:.Shame they got in strife financialy and were bought out by the yanks.

Nice way to reveal what is under your car. I have similar dents in my exhausts :)

I have had my two passenger side door skins replaced after I tilted like your picture, but very (too) close to a wall of rock. Reading this thread has set back my therapy 6 months. ;)

My wife agreed that I needed sliders and steps after that. Much cheaper than new doors.

I only got serious dents in my doors after I fitted rock sliders, rock sliders are well worth the investment if you like going off road, however they do a much better job of protecting your sills than your doors.

Much easier to replace doors than sills ;)

Plenty of roll angle to go before it has a little lay down..

Often the vehicle feels like its unstable yet its the driver who pulls out long before the vehicle is ready to call it quits :)
