Hi Guys,

I've read through posts about this but couldn't find an answer, sorry if it is there.

I recently purchased a set of EBC Green Stuff front pads, and slotted and drilled rotors (on sale, not sure if it was a good idea…). They were installed by a brake mechanic.

Either one part or a combination of both is making an unbearable screech, it makes me want to drive into a tree to make the bus stop instead of applying the brake. :censored:

I bedded them in appropriately according to the instructions and what various people have said online.

Does anyone know what could be the problem? How do I fix this?

Thanks guys!

I fixed my green stuff pads by taking them out and changing them...I know what you mean about the the screech it made my ears bleed when it happened to me...

I was told to take them out and rough up the surface of them...I think the material is quite hard on them so they take a fair bit to take the glaze off and stop the screeching..

I just changed mine out sorry I cant help any further

Did the brake fellow install the anti squeal shims correctly?

Did the brake fellow install the anti squeal shims correctly?

I'd really hope so for the $500 labour he charged me, if he didn't he's might find himself strapped to his hoist by his feet…

I would also check he has put the shims in behind them or used paste on the backings. EBC are usually pretty quiet.

The pads should have a foam like product on the backing plate, get up to 100 and brake as hard as possible to a stop, like hard as possible,do that twice and the foam will melt onto the cylinders and it'll stop squealing. Pat
