Saturday just gone im packed up camper trailer attached and heading off for a relaxing time in the high country.
Half a hour in to the trip i crest a steep climb and notice what i thought was smoke in the mirror coming out the back of the car D2a Td5, I instantly back off the loud pedal check the gauges and idiot lights = zilch
Mmm i thinking not good but no loss of power :o so find a appropiate place to pull over and do so .
Once stopped get the comment from swmbo did you leave the hand brake on the camper trailer again:angel:
Anyway there is still a haze coming out from under the car so i switch off pop the bonnet and lift slowly incase of fire .
What i found was the top radiator hose (Td5) had rubbed against the pipes where they enter the AC compressor
A couple of quick ph calls one to Roverlords and one to Chops had a complete set of coolant hoses are on their way:D.
If it was as easy as changing the top hose (not) Those bloody jesus clips  and the hose that connects below the radiator cowling:twisted:
Well Mr Roverlords even provided the fan hub spanner to get access to that hose below the fan .
I must have lost approx 3-4 ltrs of coolant by the time i stopped going by the top up after the job , The temp gauge did not move up or down it was still on half:o I think if the gauge had moved either way it would have been over:eek: Time for that coolant sensor.
Any way a big thankyou to Roverlords:BigThumb::TakeABow:
Also to chops for his help ;)
Had me :burnrubber: in no time
Thanks guys
