Hi all
Got a 2002 defa110 td5
Decided today to measure the height of the springs(from ground to mud guard)
Left hand rear 885 cm
Right hand rear 875 cm
Difference I think due to fridge in back right hand side
Left hand front 900cm
Right hand front 870 cm
This is where I think that there shouldn't be such a great difference
Between the two front heights
Springs have been replaced about 6 years ago
Do they need to be replaced again
Thanks everyone

Measure from mudguard lip to the centre of the wheel. That takes any variation in tyre pressures out of the equation.

The Defender front springs are different sizes from new and why when you buy a new set must be installed left and right. Backs however unladen should be the same.

A slight lean to the drivers side is desirable. It lets the vehicle sit more level on cambered road.

But check your units.

I watched a video the other day and the mechanic stated the longer spring goes on the drivers side. I'm about to install new front springs; just measured the height difference - one is exactly 400m, the other 370mm.
ps hans - I think you mean mm, not cm :)
