Perentie Treg Tow Hitch

Hi all,
What is the best way to fit a Treg Receiver or any other "typical" tow receptacle on a Perentie in place of the Pintle hook.
Complete new Towbar????

Find out if they'll weld a TREG5500A onto a plate that has the same bolt pattern as a pintle.

I see your question is about a Treg or another typical type of hitch.

Does anyone have any idea if I can mount an adjustable hitch on the Perentie?

I'm sure I can get one from the UK that will match up with the holes, but just not sure if it will still be rated as the Perentie has the Pintle mounted so as it doesn't sit directly up against the Chassis...........it sits about 40 mm proud of the chassis on what looks like a piece of steel that has been welded on.

Any help is greatly appreciated as the Perentie is to high to tow a trailer (non military) or boat at this point.

The entire rear crossmember and all of the chassis aft of the spring perches is different to a Defender, so any hitch you find won't work unless it relies solely on the four holes for the Pintle hook. Most adjustable hitches I have seen have supports back to the chassis rails, which on a Perentie are a different width apart - and completely different shape.

Thanks Dervish. I was thinking one option could be something like this, which doesn't have the side mounts which go back to the chassis.

Many years ago when I rebuilt my 110 dualcab I made a towbar and welded it to the underneath of the chassis and then had it redipped. I realize this in not practical for anyone unless you have an incomplete one you are rebuilding it but I would imagine you could bolt it on somehow.

Hi, I have this 'option but I reckon the Rover's North version is better (less digging in on steep inclines). Cheap tho' & fits without mods.

Are you aware that you can buy, from Alko and other producers, reasonably priced lunette rings for your trailer to enable you to use the pintle hook ?

Therefore you can have a superior setup to a treg.

If you believe a treg (or a towball) is preferable to a pintle/ring setup I would be happy to take the pintle hook off your hands :)
