Can someone tell what is the best way to remove overspray
The nexdoor neighbour was having their house repainted and their contractor was using a spray gun to do some of the job and I got some over my black 110
I have spoken to the painter and he has agreed to repair by a cut and polish at a smash repairer
My Question is this the perfered / only option and also removing from windows ?

You need a clay bar. Or Overspray/fall out bar.
You can get them at Repco, Autobarn etc etc.
Just spray with a bit of water or weak Window Cleaner to lubricate the clay bar, and rub in a circular motion.
If it's cut and polished, it will take way too much paint by the time the overspray comes off.
It needs to be clay barred first. This is the only way of doing it without having massive swirl marks, especially as your Landy is black.
If on the class, you can use a single edge razor blade. Again well lubricated.
Do it slowly and only in one direction, either up or down.:)

Get a professional detailer to do it.

Same thing happened to us when the neighbour tried his hand at DIY, painting fence panels on the front lawn. Heaps of mauve droplets all over the bossed pride and joy.
Got a pro detailer in with a very good rep. clay block and lubricant as above, then a polymer clearcoat to make any further goop easier to remove.
neighbours got out of it for ~$200 and we didn't loose any paint unlike a cut and polish.

How does the clay bar go with checker plate (bonnet and guards)?

Clay bar is useless on the checker plate.
For those bits you need a mag wheel cleaner with Phosphoric acid in it, and a WHITE scourer sponge. NOT the green ones. DO NOT use this method if car has been in sun, or is remotely warm. Landy has to be cold for this method. Once completed, use a product like Autosol when job is done. Its hard work, but very much worth it.:)

I would suggest that you polish the checkerplate with Repo(Kitten) No1 polish as No2 is a cut and polish, I have some in the kitchen cupboard,so wait until you get back or go the professional detailer route and send him the Bill
If you are going to try to clean your windows I would suggest that you get some old type safety razor blades (Gillette)double edged type, a bucket of warm water, wet the window, and carefully scrape them with the blade as flush as possible, like when you try to lift a rego label.

G'day V8Ian :)
It comes very in handy to clean and de-oxidise various painted things that the "Management" has particularly dog exercise equipment ;)

Hi muddy,
If the checker plate is powder coated or painted, it will b fine. I'm sorry, I'm not intimate with Fender's checker plate. I assumed it was natural alloy finish.
However, if the paint or powder coating is in good condition, everything I described above will work. But u will not need the Autosol. Just a regular car polish will do.
U can still use the White scourer sponge, u will just need to be a little bit delicate.
The main thing to remember is the temperature of your panels. The cooler the better.
You only need little squirts of this wheel cleaner. Be very shy about it. But let it sit for a minute or two first.
And always check first in a spot no one can see, just to be sure.

Harry has had nothing to do with a clay bar, he suggests metho, it shouldn't hurt the paint finish. Try it in an inconspicuous spot first.

Muddy
before anything else, on an inconspicuous spot try spraying
a little aeroguard personal aerosol spray on it (the blue can)
Let it sit a short time (?20-secs) and hopefully will wipe off all or at least most
of the offending paint.
I have used it to remove fresh sprayed graffiti on my fathers merc but his
was a light metallic green, I assume that the colour there is more forgiving.
It left no marks etc that I am aware of.
(PS This is also good for permanent marker (and includes whiteboards!))
I have never tried to use this on landy paint so suggest you go warily and test somewhere first.

I had a clay pad on the front and it is removing the paint overspray realy well (thanks for the heads up ). The checker plate will have to be resprayed.
I haven't had a go at the glass but it's blinding driving in the direction of a sun set. The door plastic weather shields are also speckled ---what to do?

You can use the clay on the weather shields too. You just need to support underneath with your other hand. Can get awkward.
Good to hear your paint is coming back to life.:)
