Solar Question

I have a 100w panel and 10w PCM EPHC regulator on the defender. I will be upgrading the reg at some point.
The regulator cuts out when the battery voltage drops below a given point 11v I think, why would they set them up to do this as isnt the whole point to charge the battery, my fold up system does not do this. Is there any way around this?

If the regulator has a feed in (solar panel) and an output (for a fridge or whatever) then the regulator will stop supplying the fridge when the battery voltage drops to 11v, to protect the battery.....

As long as the battery voltage is 11.1v or above, the fridge/etc will be powered.

You are actually right in this first post, the regulator will stop actually supplying voltage to the battery when it drops below 11.1, which I find odd as how are you supposed to actually charge the battery.
