Well my Nanocom EVO has died for a second time .. not too keen to send it back again to Cyprus for repair. Time for the bin I think.

I might explore some different options like the Lynx or a Hawkeye.

But in the mean time, I have the first showing of the Three Amigos. Anyone on the Gold Coast able to quickly run a scan and fault clear for me. Will probably have to do Option B but until then removing the dash lights would be less glaring.

Have PM'd a couple of people on the list last week but haven't heard back.

Another quality Nano........
Hawkeye is great, it's very plain to look at, but you turn it on & does everything it's supposed to do, the first time every time, how many posts do you see about dodgy Hawkeye's??
You don't.
There are a couple of things the Nano does that the Hawkeye doesn't,
like Recording live data, & dashbord mode, but when i had the Nano it wouldn't record anyway....
P.S - software for the Hawkeye can be updated but you have to purchase the lead to do it.
Also Hawkeye unlocked for D2 works on TD5 & the V8

Yes but you cant write map files with a Hawkeye!

All cleared thanks to Pete's Nano 1. :-)

Thanks !

I am leaning towards the Hawkeye as well. 90% sure I will be ordering one within the next month.

True, but again whats the point of having all the bells & whistles & less they all work reliably ....
I have a MSB ECU anyway, TRS chipped!

My ECU is already mapped with a TD5Inside Stage 3 so I won't be needing to reflash any time soon.

Just out of curiosity. When they sent your nanocom back to you, did you have to pay for the postage? Mine was stuffed and needed to be fixed. Now that it's fixed they want me to pay for the postage back to Australia. That doesn't seem right to me.

Yep .. I had to pay for everything, postage both ways as well.

Just interested to know regarding these posts before I decide what system to purchase. IceFyre and SPRover were yours both in in warranty when you had to pay?

I have had similar experience with other equipment so don't want to get stung again! :(

I think mine was 2 days past it's warranty but they still honored it. They are pretty good to deal with and replied to my emails very quickly. The only problem is if you do have a problem with the nanocom it will cost you to send it there and back!

Thanks for the feedback. I know what you mean about postage, had to do that on a few occasions now with various companies over the past few years. Looks like it is becoming a business policy in today's world.

Will check out theirs and Hawkeys T&C's before making a decision.
