Had a Puma fail the DOE test recently. It failed on the headlight test. The headlight on the passenger side was for a LHD vehicle therefore the offset when dipped was wrong. This was factory fitted. Probably got sent out by the suppliers in an incorrect box so was just fitted on the Defender assembley line in good faith. Still I'd have thought that the pre delivery inspection before it left Solihull would have flagged it up.
Still it cost me a replacement unit and a retest fee. Have not heard of it before so it could be a one off. Still if your Defender is up for a test soon just double check the lights!

Not long after buying my '86 Rangie I found it had LHD headlights. I noticed the beam pattern was wrong. They must have been on the car since new - it was about 10 years old when I bought it.

I gave them to another forum member who was planning an around the world trip in a Defender. I wonder what happened with that adventure?
