View Full Version : Puma Water Ingress - indicators affected

That's right folks, it's the old water ingress chesnut again.

Poor Monty is letting a staggering amount of water in these days and the footwells are wet after every rainstorm, however light, which is irrigating enough, but now it seems to have affected the alarm.

When I disarm the alarm using the keyfob, the ignition lights do not come on anymore. They do when I arm the alarm (3 flashes) but not when I disarm it.

The indicators work perfectly well when driving but there's obviously something wrong with the alarm and I'm wondering if the two elements are related (rain and relays).

I also tried simply locking the car using the key and then disarming using the keyfob but again, no indicators came on.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before?
I'm worrying a little about security now....and random alarm activation.

I was pleased to get rid of the security system after it immobilized itself during a Central Qld trip. I can still remote lock it, but I had the rest disabled after weighing up the risks of being stranded again in remote areas.

Sorry doesn't answer your question, but something for you to consider.

Pretty sure my indicators do not flash with unlocking/disarming via the fob, definitely 3 flashes when locking/arming.

I'll check once I get home and post results.

Hey Bobby,

Seems your fob batteries are about to go flat.
