Valley Heights Locomotive and Heritage Express are running four century-old steam trains from Penrith to Valley Heights (Blue Mountains, west of Sydney) and return this Sunday.

First train leaves Penrith at 09:35.

Cost Adults $25, Seniors $20, children (2-16) $10

I hope it is green flags and NOT Red,otherwise the train isn't going to proceed:D

No. Had I still been working, I might have been the signaller on duty as Valley Heights is the start (Yard Limits) of the Springwood Signal a Box interlocking.

Valley Heights is the section at the top left of this pic of the signaller's control panel.

I love living in north Queensland,but when events like this come up i could quiet happily move myself down south to be able to see these steam runs:)

I know the rail trips are advertised for tomorrow but I've heard steam whistles a few times today. I'm not far from the Blue Mountains line.

I saw a small steam engine just about to go over Castlereagh Rd at Penrith the other day.I heard the whistle and waited for it to come into view.
There were a few passengers on board. Didnt see the number of the loco,but it was one of the smaller ones.
