For me as a driver in 1977 a trip around bathurst in a falcon 2 door we were pulled up by the police who said. Who do you think you are Allan Moffat. I said no but I do work for him and showed him the Race stuff in the boot. I was let off. Then the drive from Omeo to dinner plain I was In a 6 cylinder Fairlane the Boss was in a v8 falcon ghia. Any way we got quicker and quicker and I out drove him. When we got to dinner plain I thought this is it but my boss asked how could I out drive him. I was a test driver he was an engineer. And the drive to Zanthus with the owner of the Fraser range station of the time. I have driven the Simpson the canning stock route as well as lots of Australian roads and tracks. Is it the company you keep the scenery or just the drive.

1-Sydney to Brisbane via the Putty Road and New England Highway in 8 3/4 hours driving a Camaro 327 in the days when most of the way was derestricted and no Highway Patrol.

2-Being allowed hot laps of the Milwaukee Mile in a 1959 Indy roadster and a 1920's Miller 122.

3-A long night drive in the NSW Southern Highlands on good gravel roads with a 1935 Pierce-Arrow V12 dual cowl phaeton. Absolutely amazing how fast and easiiy this big classic handled the conditions. Effortless 80 mph cruising in comfort and safety. This lovely big car was sold back to the USA some years ago. Worth big $$$$.
