How many 110's were factory fitted with the 4BD1?

Have owned mine for 10 months now after nearly a year of searching and have always wondered how many were originally made by land rover with the 4BD1.

If any one knows would be great to hear. Thanks

I have read an article & it has been thrown around this forum that the total civilian build was 800 - ish

Was that for the 110's only or 110's, 120's and Stage 1's?

So out of those 800 ish would most still be on the road?
And it would be interesting to know how many were 110's

Given that they say over 75% of all Land Rovers built are still on the road, it makes sense that most of the 4BD1 powered units would be as they are a very strong and long lived engine.

Wow 800 is not a lot! Any one know how that number compared to the V8's of the time?

I interpreted it as all 110's -IE wagons, utes & vans & coil springs. I don't think it included civvy 6x6's but that would have been a handful.
I used to have all the mags from that era, Bushdriver, Overlander but threw them out as the roof was about to collapse. I did keep some & read just now that the County V8 was $21,000 in 1985 & I recall the stage 1's in 1982 being $12500 as I was trying to save up for one.. One of the mags listed the 4x4 sales for the previous month & I well remember the County sales struggling to hit double figures and Toyota's in the hundreds. The County was darned expensive in its day.
