Hi Guys
Weird thing happened today.
Walked out to the Puma 90 to find the rear window shattered. Having a closer inspection there was no impact point or hole in the glass. The alarm was not set off either...Leading me to believe it was not done by a person or object hitting the glass
Earlier in the day i installed a Kayman reese tow bar...I know its a long shot but surely this had nothing to do with the glass shattering on the rear door?
Has anyone ever heard of something like this happening?
Where is the best place to source a new one?
Baffled?!

If my memory serves me right, there was a thread on this & it happened to a number of others, In those cases I recall it was replaced under warranty. I just did a search but no luck.
If not under warranty, depending where you are, North - go to Les Richmond Automotive East - AMV Automotive

mine (110) was smashed intentionally by an undesirable while in Kalgoorlie about 4 years ago (along with just about every other bit of glass:(), couldn't get hold of a new one in time, so the window man cut and fitted perspex.
Been there 4 years no probs.

Found it (I was one of the posters/victims): http://www.aulro.com/afvb/90-110-130-defender-county/189173-mystery-shattering-rear-glass.html
Hmmm... quite a few of these... not sure what one can do, really, or what's statistically meaningful... Wonder if it's worth posting on the UK Defender2 forum and see if they find it in other environments.

I have seen it happen to a couple of Pumas here in Scotland. The reason for it was the rear door was bending out of shape causing the glass to shatter as it had nowhere to go. I put a steel rule on the rear door of one and it was a 1/2 inch out of true at the top left corner. We put the reason down to hanging a 305 wheel and tyre off the OEM wheel carrier which we assumed was bending the door out of shape with its weight. My mate got the back door replaced under warranty and got a nakatanenga wheel carrier (copied me) to take the weight and that seems to have solved the issue.
