Cracked the windscreen last week going to Brisbane & after some discussion, the insurer agreed to an LR windscreen, all good, booked in for this morning at O'Briens, I have just been told, can't do it, no LR screens in the country and are back order may be another week or so.

If this is indeed the case, it's pretty ordinary that stocks of this sort of thing are not maintained. My wife has a Renault Laguna & the front screen has been replaced twice with genuine glass, on each occasion it was shipped over night ex-Melbourne.

I will try the dealer in Canberra to make sure.

Last time I needed a screen, I had similar issues with O'Briens, yet I was able to source a screen in 48 hours via a Sydney parts supplier. Make sure they do a good job of refitting the A-Pillar mouldings lest they come loose and make annoying wind and other noises.

Try the very helpful chaps at MLR parts in Melbourne.

I assume you need the very specific LR MY14 screen, with the humidity sensor attached to the right of the rear view mirror?

Yeah thats the one I need, but I contacted the dealer & he confirmed NONE are available in Australia, so its been ordered, now for the wait. I still think its very ordinary that these aren't kept in stock all the time, its not like wanting a fuel filler flap or the like, windscreens have a tendancy to need replacing.
