Hi All

I'm currently in the process of getting a new heated windscreen for my Disco through insurance.
I was hoping for a genuine but going through insurance unfortunately you get what you get.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had their screen replaced, is there actually an after market screen available and were they happy with the quality?

Cheers Scott

Hi Scott

I'm currently going through this with MY14, the insurer has agreed to replace the cracked screen with a genuine non heated LR one, however there are non in the country at this point in time and is now on order.

Mine will be done by once it's received by OBriens who could also supply a generic, but I don't think they have a generic heated screen, so that may be issue to raise & argue with your insurer. I had to make a case to get a genuine screen, you might need to do the same. No harm in trying.

Apparently Obrien Shepparton has ordered a heated screen and should be there this week.
It's "Australian Standard", the only thing that is missing is the Land Rover mark in the corner so they say.
If there is any problems with the glass, Suncorp will be the first to know.

The OEM Pilkington windscreen is normally the standard fit for replacement, it just doesn't have the Land Rover logo on it. In all other ways mine is the same though (and I've had, erm, 4 :p )

Scott, OE LR glass is Pilkington, I was told by O'Briens in ACT that their generic glass is not made by Pilkington, hence why I requested OE LR glass. maybe you might want to ask the question who makes their glass...just a thought!

I've never noticed that, are there elements embedded in a D4 windscreen?

*goes off the read the manual*
