Hi,
I have a ctek mxs 5.0 charger.
I have a traxide dual battery setup as well.
I was thinking of connecting the comfort connector with the eyelets to the battery.
The diagrams seem to imply they go directly to the posit and negative terminals not the chassis.
Is this correct.
The other question is should i do this to the charging battery or dual battery. The dual battery is easier to get at.
Thanks for any help

I would connect to the main battery.
This week I had a flat battery in my D2,the doors wouldnt unlock.Easy I thought connect my 25amp Ctek to the camper trailer Anderson connection.(all Drivesafe wiring/controlers).NOPE,with the main battery isolated the SC80 wouldnt open to allow charge back to the main battery(cesond battery was charged still).Had to get underneath and connect the Ctek to the starter motor to gain accses.

Take your point
I was worried about that before I went away so I got a set up you can charge via the white plug at the back
But like a smart person I am I stored it all in the car 😁
Mind you you always use the emergency key built into the key fob

I dont know about the D3/D4 but a D2 will not open with the key with a flat enough battery,no mater how hard you try.Found out myself earlier in the week;););););).

An update.
There seemed to be some confusion or difference of opinion over where to connect the negative lead of the CTEK comfort lead with the eyelets.
So I went to the local Battery World and asked them.
The guy there offered and set up for nothing another option for me. He connected the positive lead to the charging battery and the negative lead to the negative post on my aux battery which should work OK I believe.

All that's done is the same as mounting the negative to the earth stud on the body.
Just looks a lot less tidy :)

Tombie,
Agree but it is a very tidy solution. The studs on my car are a bit harder to get at due to other additions. This is better.
The issue seems to be that there is an opinion you should not connect to the lead to the negative terminal of the battery and the instructions in the CTEK manual are a bit ambiguous in that they say to connect to the chassis but the diagrams are connected to the terminal.
The mani thing is it is earthed. Connecting to the negative terminal on the aux battery achieves this - I think. The positive is connected to the charging battery.

Not sure if this is down the same lines, but main reason I've been told to connect chargers and jump starting to the chassis, not the negative post is that if the battery is venting any gases, the small spark that occurs when you connect the negative lead can ignite the gases.
Obviously this wont happen with the CTEK connector as you're not connecting an alligator clip, and the CTEK doesn't output any current until it verifies it's connected correctly to the battery.
I'd connect either way. If you're worried, you could put a 7.5 or 10 A waterproof blade fuse in the line.

And in this instance you would be doing it wrong.
There is a sensor in the vehicles negative that should not be bypassed.
Connect to the +Ve and a chassis connected -Ve so as not to mess with the systems.
In this case, of the OP their aux is connected via the lead direct to an chassis Earth point.

I have a Ctek MXS 10 and can understand your confusion. To say one thing and see them doing another is a bit weird.
I've got the comfort connect hooked up to my main battery via the screw-down terminals. Have done for quite a while and have not had any issues. As mentioned above, it's all to do with gasses, and probably more to do with charging an already flat/low battery. My SC80 sends the good stuff to the aux battery from there.
If my batteries were to die/become low, I'd use a chassis bolt to earth, pos on the terminal.
Cheers

Keithy, on a P38 that's fine.
On an intelligent charging system it's not about "the gasses" it's about the electronics...
